About the music

Daniel Jaxon's mixes are built like records. Three-act structure, real arcs, no autopilot. The originals come from the same place: hooks first, drums tight, room for the song to breathe. Genres bend depending on what the night needs. Rock energy on the kit, house pacing in the booth, pop instincts in the writing.

The DJ work runs across deep house, afro-house, R&B, and hip-hop, with the warehouse house sets as the centerpiece. Those long-form mixes hold a room for an hour and a half without coasting. The drumming side comes from years behind a Tama LU40 kit, and it shows up live: when a set needs lift, Daniel plays live drums over the mix instead of leaning on the track alone.

The Bass Beats and Melody 2026 mix above is the clearest record of that hybrid approach. Across a 91-minute set produced with Dan Morrell, Daniel performed live drums and guitar on six tracks, from the intro megamix through a Metallica remix run and an original closer. Tap any moment in the timeline to jump straight to the part he played on.

The four original tracks listed here, Chain Reaction, Undertow, Lowlight, and South Side Drive, carry the same instincts into songwriting. They are written to be played, not just streamed: drum parts that sit forward, arrangements with space, and hooks built to land in a room. New mixes and originals get posted here first.
